Adelle Michels Parsons Bedrossian, born on 8 December 1930, a resident of Hidden Springs Senior Living, Bentonville, Virginia, passed away on 4 May 2017.
Adelle was a recent member of our community after moving here from the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania area where she was born and raised. Preceding her death, were the death of her parents, Dr. Nicholas A. Michels, a professor at the Thomas Jefferson University, Jefferson Medical College, and author of the book entitled “Blood Supply and Anatomy of the Upper Abdominal Organs, with a Descriptive Atlas,” and her step-mother, Hilda Datty Michels from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Adelle’s biological mother, Martha Anna Tweedale, died at an early age when Adelle was 8 years old.
A 1952 graduate of Ursinus College, Adelle married her first husband, Dr. Sidney A. Parsons, Jr. from Drexel Hill, PA, who passed away in 1977. During her first marriage, Adelle became a private pilot and an advocate of supporting women in aviation through her membership in the International Ninety-Nines organization. Subsequent to the death of her first husband, she married Dr. E. Howard Bedrossian Jr, who preceded Adelle’s death in 2006. Howard had a passion for sports to include skiing, and Adelle became an accomplished skier.
Adelle is survived by two sons, Jeffrey P. Parsons, married to Pamela Joan Williams, who reside in Bentonville, VA, and Charles R. Parsons, married to Vicki Gorczyca who reside in Jupiter, FL. She also has three step children; Trinda Ristau Bedrossian, married to Donn Ristau from El Macero, California; Bill Bedrossian, married to Sue Strausler, from Wheaton, IL; and Ned Bedrossian, married to Iryna Kuchma, from Springfield, PA. Adelle is also survived by her brother, Dr. H. Harvey Michels, married to Nancy Gubbins, from West Hartford, CT.
Adelle lived a full life and enjoyed knowing 21 grand and step-grand children, and 10 great and step-great grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held in Adelle’s hometown of Hilltown, PA on 10 June at 10:30am, at the St. Peter’s Union Cemetery, located next to St. Peter’s Covenant Church, 1006 Hilltown Pike, Hilltown, PA 18927.
