Elizabeth Reynolds Pinto, 79, of Fremont, Ohio, died April 5, 2018 with her family by her side. She was born December 29, 1938 in Craigsville, Virginia, the daughter of Charles William and Myrtle Frances (Robertson) Reynolds.

Elizabeth was a graduate of Warren County High School, Class of 1957, and Roller Business College, Front Royal, Virginia. She worked for Doubleday Publishing Company before being hired by the Department of Environmental Services for the District of Columbia where she served as an Executive Secretary and met Bunifred Pinto, her future husband.

Elizabeth and Bunifred were married at St. Thomas Moore Catholic Church in Washington, D.C. on May 19, 1973. Upon the birth of their first child, Elizabeth switched her career, devoting herself to being a full-time homemaker. After successfully seeing both her children through school and off to college, Elizabeth resumed her secretarial career, this time serving as Office Manager for IPS Treatment in Toledo, Ohio, a position from which she retired in 2003.

Elizabeth had an unwavering faith in God and was a member of the First Assembly of God Church.

Throughout her years at school, Elizabeth was an honors student who always excelled in her studies. She was a talented artist and musician and had a beautiful voice. Growing up, she led her church’s youth group in song on many occasions. She passed her love of music and art on to her children and grandchildren.

Elizabeth played an active role in her children’s elementary schools, often taking the lead in designing and implementing new school activities, from new art projects for the students to playing Santa Claus for the kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grade classes during their Christmas celebrations.

Elizabeth was witty and had a quick intellect; she enjoyed solving all kinds of puzzles, at which she was very skilled. Her hobbies were numerous and included reading, gardening, woodworking, singing, painting and drawing. Elizabeth was also a fantastic cook and enjoyed entertaining.

Elizabeth Pinto was an exceptional woman who always put serving God and her family first in her life. She will be remembered fondly by all who knew and loved her.

Surviving is her husband of nearly 45 years, Bunifred Pinto; children, Janna Michele (James) Bighouse and Jonathan (Rebecca) Mathew Pinto; grandchildren, C.J. (Alena) Holland, Crystal (Kevin) Nikkel, Alexandra Bighouse and Joshua Bighouse; great-grandchildren, Josie and Melody; sister, Odessa (Samuel) Linn. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles William Reynolds and Myrtle Frances Reynolds-Staton; step-father, Lusby Staton; siblings, Charles Elwood Reynolds, James Binford Reynolds, Glasgow Lynn Reynolds, Leroy Franklin Reynolds and Marjorie Ann Reynolds.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at 1 PM at Maddox Funeral Home, 105 West Main Street, Front Royal with burial to follow at Panorama Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
