Jerry Van Brookman, 61, of Front Royal, VA, died on Wednesday, March 16, 2016.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, March 21, at 2:00 p.m. at Maddox Funeral Home conducted by Rev. Jim Bunce. Burial will follow in Prospect Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Brookman was born February 24, 1955 in Warren County, VA son of the late Ralph Elmore Brookman and Jeanette Mae Henry Brookman. He retired as a supervisor from Asplundh Tree Company after forty years of faithful service, where he was a dedicated boss and friend. His favorite pastimes were hunting and fishing and taking long rides with his late wife, Judy. He enjoyed going to the casino at Charlestown. He was especially fond of cats and dogs as the animals held a special place in his heart.
Surviving are his daughter Candy Ann Brookman Hunger and husband Robert; two sisters Linda Jenkins and Teresa Curry; one brother Michael Brookman; and three step-sons Charles Williams, John Williams, and Ted Williams. He was married to the late Judy Ann Butler Brookman.
Pallbearers will be David York, Walter Seay, Mike Nulty, Rois Thompson, Abelino Benavides, and Craig Salisbury.
Honorary pallbearers will be Chris Brookman, Richard “Buddy” Jenkins, Jr., T.J. Curry, Brandon Curry, Tyler Curry, and Melvin Wright.
The family will receive friends on Monday, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
