Kathryn “Janet” King

Kathryn “Janet” King, 77, of Front Royal, Virginia passed away on Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at Winchester Medical Center. She was a wonderful wife, mom, grandma, great grandma, sister and friend who will be missed by many.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at 2 PM at Maddox Funeral Home, 105 West Main Street, Front Royal with Sammy Campbell officiating. Burial will follow at Panorama Memorial Gardens.

Janet was born on July 8, 1940 in Washington DC to the late Frank M. Garber and Betsy R. Garber. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Earl E. King and her brother, Richard Garber.

She was previously employed by the Aileen Plant in Flint Hill, Virginia and the Front Royal Garment Company. She enjoyed spending time outside in nature, whether it was camping, her mountains or sticking her toes in the ocean. She also enjoyed watching her old westerns on television and listening to the older country music and gospel hymns. Her greatest moments were spent with her children and their families (we all will miss these wonderful times). She was the rock of her family.

King, Jr. (Angela); three daughters, Tamra Snoots (Herbert), Linda Gordon (Rick) and Kristy Day (Eric); four brothers, Frank Garber (Heather), Ronnie Garber (Bonnie), John Garber (Vesta) and Skip Garber (Linda); two sisters, Sandra Cook (Clarence) and Brenda Ratlief (Gary); 13 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Rick Gordon, Sr., Herbert Snoots, Jason King, Eric Day, Chuckie Johnson and Ricky Gordon, Jr.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Sorry for your loss. God promises at John 5:28,29 that we can see our love ones again. May the God of all comfort be with your family at this difficult time.
