Kenneth Milton Schaeffer, 89, of Front Royal, VA died on Saturday, April 25, 2015 at Winchester MedicalCenter.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 2, at 12:00 p.m. at Maddox Funeral Home conducted by Pastor Carroll Junkins. Interment with full military honors will be held at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
Mr. Schaeffer was born October 30, 1925 in Centreville, VA, son of the late Raymond Samuel Schaeffer, Sr. and Lena Marie Weatherholtz Schaeffer. He was a U. S. Army veteran serving his country during World War II and retired as a supervisor with the Federal Highway Department. He was a member of the American Legion, Loyal Order of Moose and Kena Temple Shriners.
Surviving are his wife Evelyn (Thorne) Schaeffer; one son Michael W. Schaeffer and his wife Jill; one sister Carol A. (Schaeffer) Currier; one granddaughter Lauren; and many nieces and nephews; He was preceded in death by a daughter Terry Schaeffer; a son Robert Lee Schaeffer; and three brothers James Schaeffer, Raymond Schaeffer, Jr., and Cecil Schaeffer.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
