Lawrence Randolph “Pig” Williams

Lawrence Randolph “Pig” Williams, 90, of Chester Gap, Virginia went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, February 25, 2019, in the Warren Memorial Hospital.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 2 at 11:00 a.m. at Maddox Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Williams and Rev. Jimmy Burke. Interment will follow in the Williams Family Cemetery in Chester Gap.

Pig was born on October 26, 1928 in Huntly, Virginia, son of the late Sandy Cary Williams and Lucy Ann Williams. He was a U.S. Army Korean War veteran, worked for a number of years for the Old Virginia Packing Company, Avtex Fibers for over thirty years and worked up until his 80’s as a security guard for the EPA at the Avtex site. Pig was an amazing husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and a great-great-grandfather and friend. He will be greatly missed by all who loved him.

Surviving are his loving and devoted wife of sixty-six years Barbara Allen Williams; three sons Arnold “Mickey” Williams and wife Jane of Chester Gap, Lynn “Foot” Williams and wife Mary Jane of Chester Gap and Tony “Tater” Williams and wife Kelley of Chester Gap; one daughter Dina Bird Weaver and companion Ricky of Front Royal; three brothers Haywood Williams, Leo Williams both of Chester Gap and Elwood Williams of Front Royal; and twin sisters Jessie Wines and Mattie Frazier both of Chester Gap; ten grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter and Brian Williams of Pennsylvania, who was like a son.

Pig was preceded in death by a brother Lynwood Williams and several half-brothers and half-sisters.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.

The family will receive friends on Friday March 1 from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
