LCDR William Kilian “Bill” Romoser, Jr., USN (Ret.)

LCDR William Kilian “Bill” Romoser, Jr., USN (Ret.), 84, of Fort Valley, Virginia, died Tuesday, November 6, 2018, in the Blue Ridge Hospice Inpatient Center in Winchester, Virginia.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at Calvary Episcopal Church in Front Royal conducted by The Rev. Valerie Hayes and The Rev. Deborah Rutter. There will be a reception following the service in the parish hall.

LCDR Romoser was born June 6, 1934 in Annapolis, Maryland, son of the late RADM William K. Romoser, Sr., USN (Ret.) and Elsie Kalkman Romoser. He was a member of the Fort Valley Vol. Fire Dept., the Board of Directors of the Fort Valley Community Center, a member of the Fort Valley Ruritan Club, and a docent at the Fort Valley Museum. He was an active member of Calvary Episcopal Church and once served as Junior Warden.

He was a swimmer at the Naval Academy and a member of the water polo team. He enjoyed body surfing and sailing, and was a marathon runner. He also was an amateur ski instructor.

Surviving are his wife Martha Ann Romoser; a son Scot Kalkman Romoser and his wife Rosemary of Fairfax, City; a daughter Marcella Romoser Scherer and her husband Mark of Jupiter, Florida; a sister Barbara Romoser Brock and her husband Jim of Naples, Florida; and two grandchildren, Laurel Helen Romoser and Claire Chandler Romoser.

Bill was a loving husband, father, brother, and grandfather. He will be greatly missed by his family, church family, and friends.
