Mae H. Lang

Mae H. Lang, 88, of Front Royal, Virginia passed away on Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at Winchester Medical Center.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, June 11, 2018 at 11 AM at Maddox Funeral Home, 105 West Main Street, Front Royal with the Rev. Marc Roberson officiating. Entombment will follow at Shenandoah Memorial Park, Winchester.

Mrs. Lang was born on October 27, 1929 in Loudoun County, Virginia to the late Carlin and Ethel Washington Hummer. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Oscar S. Lang, Sr.; son, Oscar S. “Peanut” Lang, Jr.; four brothers, Charles M. Hummer, Roger Hummer, Rodney Hummer, Johnny Hummer and two sisters, Carol Smith and Barbara Hall.

She was a long time realtor in Warren County as well as the first female real estate Broker and Appraiser and the first female Justice of the Peace/Magistrate in Warren County. She was a member of the National Association of Realtors, The Blue Ridge Board of Realtors and the Fraternal Order of Police.

Survivors include her son, Maurice Lang; daughter, Linda Lang-Sealock; two brothers, George and William Hummer; sister, Kathleen Womack; eight grandchildren, Rick, Chris, Tyler, Derek, Matthew, Ian, Thane and Caitlin and eleven great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 10, 2018 from 4 to 6 PM at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Fund, 26 Broadway, 14th Floor, New York, NY 10004.

    Mae was a dear sister-in-law, and friend to my family. I will miss our weekly talks. Knowing that she is with her loved ones, John and Rodney fishing and talking about the good ole day. Love you, and will miss you.

    Maurice, Linda, Ian, Thane, your in my thoughts, because your’re in my heart. Mae was not only my sister-in-law, but also my friend. We shared a lot of memories about Oscar & Rodney. With deepest sympathy. Chick Hummer.
