Master Seargent William “Bill” Burns Barr, USAF, Retired
It is with great sadness that the family of William Burns Barr of Front Royal, Virginia announce his passing on Tuesday, June 26, 2018, at the age 86 years. Bill is preceded in death by his wife Mildred Lee Barr of fifty five years, brothers Curtis Barr and Stanley “Frankie” Barr; sister Margaret “Margie” Morrison; and is survived by one sister Annie “Susie” Laing.
He will be lovingly remembered by his children John W. Barr, Barbara Barr Greene, Bonnie L. Judy, Patricia F. Barr, and Donna M. Booth and his 28 grandchildren.
MSgt Barr was a 20 year veteran of the United States Airforce. As a Vietnam veteran he received the Bronze Star medal for meritorious service during the Vietnam Air Offensive Campaign, Phase II.
Bill enjoyed researching his family geneology, home gardening, repairing anything mechanical and reading. He was very supportive of his family in their career goals and an advocate of higher education.
A graveside ceremony will be held on Friday at 11:00 a.m. at Panorama Memorial Gardens in Front Royal for friends and family.
