McDonald Stanley

McDonald Stanley, 89, of Front Royal, Virginia, passed away on Friday, October 19, 2018, in the Blue Ridge Hospice Center in Winchester.

Services will be private.

Mr. Stanley was born May 20, 1929, in Williamson, West Virginia, son of Jerry Stanley and Anzie Williamson Stanley. He was married to the late Sydna Mae King Stanley.

Mr. Stanley was a retired plumber and was a U. S. Army Korean War veteran.

Surviving are five children Debra Faye Painter of Winchester, Douglas Edward Stanley of Front Royal, Robin Jean Scriva of Front Royal, Jeffrey Matthew Allen Stanley of Winchester, and Anthony Dean Stanley of Jersey Shore, Pennsylvania; 13 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers Raymond Stanley and Burnis Stanley and a sister Lorraine Maynard.

He was an avid country music guitarist and a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He will be greatly missed by his family and his many friends.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Blue Ridge Hospice, 333 W. Cork St., Winchester, VA 22601.

    Our family was saddened to read about the passing of Mr. Stanley. No doubt he leaves behind many fond memories that can brighten your day when you are thinking of him. As we look forward to the time when we are reunited again with our loved ones, think about what you would like to say and how big the hugs will be.
