Nelson Quevedo

Nelson Quevedo, 86, of Front Royal, VA passed away on Friday, August 10, 2018 at his home surrounded by loving family.

Mr. Quevedo was born on September 19, 1931 in Puerto Rico to the late Eduardo and Rosa Del Rio Quevedo. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Smith Quevedo; daughter, Wendy Killen; four brothers, Rolando Quevedo, Eduardo Quevedo, Paul Quevedo and Raymond Quevedo and sister, Yolanda Dunn.

He retired from the United States Air Force with 20 years, following his military retirement he was with the US Postal Service 25 years and the Virginia Department of Transportation 15 years.

Mr. Quevedo loved baseball and was a big fan of the New York Yankees.

He was close with his family.

His granddaughter, Jane C. Mullins, was like a daughter to him and he was very close with his 14 year old great grandson, Ryan Mullins. They referred to him as “My Papi”.

He is survived by his daughters, Jane M. Murray of Front Royal, Rose Q. Bailey of Woodbridge, VA and his son, Theodore Nelson Quevedo, Jr. of Fairfax, VA; two brothers, Franklin L. Quevedo of PA and Eduardo W. Quevedo of Staten Island, NY; sister, Deanna Quevedo of CA; seven grandchildren, Jane C. Mullins, Ronald Killen, Jesse Taylor, Jay Taylor, Devin Accetta, Theodore Nelson Quevedo III and Alecia Bailey and 10 great grandchildren.

A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, September 8, 2018 from 2 to 4 PM at Maddox Funeral Home, 105 West Main Street, Front Royal.
