Polly May Nichols

Polly May Nichols, 80, of Linden, Virginia passed away peacefully on Monday, September 25, 2017 at her home.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 29, 2017 at 10 AM at Maddox Funeral Home, 105 West Main Street, Front Royal with the Rev. Terry Hendricks officiating. Burial will follow in Linden Church Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Nichols was born on May 9, 1937 in Manassas, Virginia to the late Johnny “John” Mills and Lillian Sprouse Mills. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Franklin Nichols and her Sister, Elsie Taylor. She formerly worked at Peebles Department Store and the Apple House and she was a member of Linden United Methodist Church.
Survivors include three daughters, Karen Wines (Mike) of Stephens City, Virginia, Mary Laing of Front Royal and Patricia King (Rex) of Front Royal; son, Chris Nichols of Linden; brother, Robert “Bobby” Mills of New Market, Virginia; six grandchildren, Vicki King, Jenilee Laing, Travis King, Manuel Wines, Arlie Wines and Izik Wines and three great grandchildren, Gage Bane, Bralen King and Jodi King.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 28, 2017 from 7 to 9 PM at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Michael Wines, Rex King, Travis King, Manuel Wines and Keith Belanger.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the American Lung Association to support Pulmonary Fibrosis research at www.lung.org.

    I am sorry to hear of Polly’s passing. I am just learning of this since I do not always read the paper so my condolences are a little late. I have many fond memories of Polly and our Tupperware 4 H fundraisers. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers, Patty and Chris.
