Roy “Nelson” Clatterbuck Sr.

Roy “Nelson” Clatterbuck Sr., 74, of Front Royal, Virginia passed away on Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at his home.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at 1:30 PM at Maddox Funeral Home, 105 West Main Street, Front Royal. Burial will follow at Panorama Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Mr. Clatterbuck was born on January 14, 1944 in Rappahannock County, Virginia to the late Roy and Virginia Whorton Clatterbuck. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Ann Smith Hutchison; second wife, Judy Joseph Clatterbuck and two brothers, Russell William Clatterbuck and Charles Edward Clatterbuck.

He was an avid hunter and grew up in the old John Carter House in Whipporwill Hollow during his teen years. He worked as a painter for residential and commercial projects.

Survivors include his daughter, Sharon Wright and her husband Bruce of Culpeper, Virginia; four sons, Roy Nelson Clatterbuck, Jr. and his wife Brenda of Culpeper, Shane Aaron Clatterbuck and his wife Nicole of Front Royal; Adam Joseph Clatterbuck and his wife Shavon of Front Royal and Jimmie Wade Clatterbuck and his companion Samantha of Front Royal; brother, Jimmie Lee Clatterbuck of Utah; four granddaughters, Brittney Wright, Brooklyn Clatterbuck, Abreonia Clatterbuck, Sareiya Clatterbuck; three grandsons, Roy Lee Clatterbuck, Brett Wright and Derrick Clatterbuck; he was expecting his first great grandchild, Bentley Cade Addison and companion, Karen Cole of Front Royal.

Pallbearers will be Shane Aaron Clatterbuck, Adam Joseph Clatterbuck, Jimmie Wade Clatterbuck, Ben Stickley, Rusty Stickley and Michael Kenney.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Clement Clatterbuck, John Sweeney and the River Ridge Hunt Club.
