Preplanning

The funeral home also specializes in preplanning for funeral arrangements which assists in alleviating some of the stress that accompanies the emotions at a time of grief. When advanced planning is done by an individual, the family and friends will know the wishes of the deceased. Since the family usually wants to follow the decisions made by the deceased, having the loved one’s choices already documented assists the family in making the final arrangements. When a person is in a nursing home, ill, or lives away from the area and cannot make their own personal prearrangements, the family may decide to make some arrangements before death occurs. Individuals and/or families are encouraged to schedule an appointment to discuss funeral preferences with one of our directors.

Advanced planning arrangements can include placing all instructions on file, requesting cost estimates for the type of services you are considering, funding the services in advance or a combination of all three. When advanced planning, it is recommended to set aside the funds in a manner that your family has immediate access to at the time a passing occurs. Options for this is to purchase traditional life insurance making a family member of funeral home beneficiary, placing funds in a payable upon death account at your financial institution or to place funds in a pre-arranged funeral insurance policy. Our funeral directors can assist you with further information regarding pre-arranged funeral insurance policies.
