Steve was born September 30, 1950 and grew up in Flint Hill where he spent his childhood years hunting, fishing and making memories with his brothers and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Bertha and David Foster of Flint Hill.
Steve leaves behind his beloved wife, Pam; his children, Davey (Keva), Shane, Jessica (Shane), and Adam (Bernie); his cherished grandchildren, Skyla, Isaac, Aubrey, and Abriella; his brothers, Bernie F. (Becky) and Mike F. (Alice); sister, Bobby Jo Adams (Frank); cousin, Johnny (Karen); and his best friend, Kirby Covert.
In 1999, he made a life changing commitment turning from a life of bars to the Bible and using his experience to spread the word of God. Throughout his life Steve faced many hardships but he always credited God for helping him to overcome them.
Steve’s life touched many people as a devoted father, loving husband proud pappy, loyal friend, coach, and most importantly, a faithful follower of Christ. He was known for his ability to listen, his unwavering faith, and his desire to share the love of the Lord in all aspects of his life. Whether through mule shows, jail ministry, school visits, charity events, or building the Amazing Grace Gospel Barn with special companion, Gracie the mule, Steve made it his mission to serve God and others.
Never ashamed of his humble beginnings, Steve used his past to form lasting relationships and to show how God can transform a life. In honoring Steve’s legacy, we encourage you to follow God’s will in your life. As Steve often said, “God doesn’t promise you a smooth ride, but a smooth landing”.
We deeply appreciate the kind words, thoughts and prayers you have shared with us during this difficult time.
Rest in peace, Steve. Your legacy of faith, love, and service will continue to inspire us all.
Love, the Foster Family
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Pam Foster at United Bank in Front Royal.

So sorry to hear about Stevie’s passing. Pam and family know that you’re in our prayers during this difficult time. I’ve known Stevie all my life and we did some coon hunting a few times riding the mules around the woods, I don’t think I ever laughed so hard. Even though we kinda drifted apart in our older days I’m going to miss him he was always good to me. Fly high brother
Rest in peace old friend
Pam we are very sorry to hear of Steve’s passing. He was an extraordinary man. David loved him like a second father. May he rest in peace. May you find peace in knowing he’s in the kingdom of Heaven.
Love, prayers and hugs to all who had the pleasure of meeting him.
RIP, Stevie! I extend my most heartfelt condolences to his family. I got to know Stevie by playing FR Church League softball against him for a couple decades. He was an intense competitor! We knew we had to be ready when we were playing one of Stevie’s teams. One of the things I miss about our old Church League was how we got to know wider circles in our community… those close games year after year created genuine friendships. Stevie was always good for a big smile and a kind word when we would see each other around town. Godspeed, brother! I reckon the green grass in the outfield in heaven just got a little harder to defend.
So sorry to hear of Steve’s passing. Keeping each of you in our thoughts and prayers.

Steve would talk to me at the back of the church. It often helped. Also, I remember a time when my wife said that Steve and Pam were concerned because their vehicle’s door dinged my van. It was small. But, she said they said they’d make it right. I looked at my wife Joyce and said “I’d be a horrible person if I said something to them about that. They are good Christian people. Who cares about a dime sized ding ! At least they were honest about it !” I never thought about it again. May GOD BLESS YOU Steve and PAM !!!
Peace and Comfort to all of Steve Foster’s family and friends. Love in Christ, Bud Corder or as he called me as we grew up together “Charlie “
Stevie was definitely one of a kind. We should take comfort in knowing he is enjoying his eternal reward for his steadfast faith and for all of the lives he changed and the souls he helped save. He always said he couldn’t wait to meet Jesus, shake his hand, give him a hug and a kiss on the cheek, and thank him for all he had done for him. I’m sure he got his wish. If anyone deserved it, it was Stevie.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to Pam and the Foster Family in this most difficult time, Steve was a great friend and teammate over the years, and I admired his faith and determination in all that he dealt with in life. He will be missed by all that were fortunate enough to have known him.
I’m going to miss Steve at his church and Christmas services. I have brought friends to them and told them what a cool cowboy Steve was. Loved Gracie and the other animals too. Steve was just a really nice man for sure and will be missed in a world full of hardness right now. He and Gracie were like a breath of fresh air to me.
We were very sad to hear of Steve’s passing. Far too young to leave us. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family.
