Velma Jean Stoots, 92, of Front Royal, Virginia passed away on Tuesday, July 29, 2025 at Warren Memorial Hospital.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 5, 2025 at 12:30 PM at Maddox Funeral Home, 105 West Main Street, Front Royal with the Rev. Eric Reploeg officiating.  Entombment will follow at Shenandoah Memorial Park, 1270 Front Royal Pike, Winchester.

Mrs. Stoots was born on July 18, 1933 in West Virginia to the late John and Gladys Hartsell Bell.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, William Edgar Stoots; son, David Wayne Stoots; brother, Jerry Bell and three sisters, Juanita Matthews, JoAnne Downing and Sarah-Mae Whittaker.  She was a member of the Church of God and Virginia Hills Church.

Survivors include her son, William Roger Stoots; daughter, Kathy McLendon and her husband, Joey; daughter-in-law, Charlotte Stoots; two sisters-in-law, Jean Stoots and Marion Bell; nine grandchildren, Robbie Walton, Jessica Oakes, Megan McLendon, Clint Stoots, Kari Wallace, Chasity Stoots, April Stoots, Andrew Stoots and Devin Dagelidis; 20 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Van Carter, Clint Stoots, Laki Dagelidis, Andrew Stoots, Randy Wallace and Robbie Walton.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
