Webster “Web” C. Johnson, 64, of Front Royal, Virginia suddenly passed away at home on Friday, January 15, 2016, after a brief illness.
Web was born on January 19, 1951 in Annapolis, Maryland to the late Theodore Woolsey Johnson and the late Millicent Ames Johnson.
Web graduated from McDonough High School, Owings Mills, MD., Lehigh University, B.S., economics, varsity men’s basketball and University Md., teaching certificate.
Web taught math and coached basketball at the Darrow School, NY, Wilmington Friends School, DE. Mercersburg Academy, PA., the Gilman and the Park Schools, Baltimore, MD and Randolph-Macon Academy, Front Royal, VA. Web was also assistant men’s basketball coach at the University of Delaware, Wilmington, DE, Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, MD and Washington College, Chestertown, MD.
Web was later a very successful realtor in and around Annapolis, Anne Arundel County, Maryland.
Survivors include many Web’s many cherished friends, students and colleagues, Web’s wife, Linda T. Cox and his daughter, Savannah Elizabeth Johnson of Annapolis, Maryland, his son, Christopher Ames Johnson of Front Royal, Virginia and his three sisters, Ann Craven Johnson of Arnold, Maryland, Alice Winthrop Harrison of Edgewater, Maryland, Susan Ames Johnson of Brooklyn, New York.
Friends and family are invited to a memorial service at St. Anne’s Episcopal Church, Church Circle, Annapolis, Md. on Friday, February 5, 2016 at 3:30 p.m. Reception to follow.
