Darlene Joy King Thompson, 80, of Front Royal, Virginia passed away on Saturday, October 4, 2025 at Blue Ridge Hospice Inpatient Care Center in Winchester, Virginia.
A celebration of life will take place on Sunday, October 19, 2025 immediately following the church service held that morning at First Baptist Church, 14 W 1st Street, Front Royal, Virginia.
Mrs. Thompson was born on September 19, 1945 in Portsmouth, Virginia to the late Howard and Mamie Lockhart King.
Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Jimmy Thompson of Front Royal; daughter, Michelle L. Reppert (Michael) of Holly Springs, North Carolina; three brothers, Myron Steward King of Front Royal, Vern Steven King (Gayle) of Front Royal and Barry Dean King of Strasburg, Virginia and two grandchildren, Cora Reppert and Lily Reppert.
Darlene fought the battle for many years. May she rest in peace now.
It was always nice to talk with her & enjoy her smile when she spoke of Jimmy & Michelle & her granddaughters.
