David Llewellyn

David Llewellyn, 89, of Front Royal, Virginia, died September 30, 2025 at Warren Memorial Hospital.

David was born February 19, 1936 in West Chester, Pennsylvania, son of David and Eveline Llewellyn, who had immigrated from Tredegar, Wales.

David graduated from Warren County High School in 1954.  After attending The University of Virginia, he went to work as an engineer for Melpar assisting in the design and fabrication of rocket engines for NASA at Cape Canaveral, Florida.

David and Charlotte, his wife, returned to Front Royal to raise their family where he had grown up.  He enjoyed learning surveying and had over a 35-year career at the Post Office in Front Royal.

He was predeceased by his wife, Charlotte Burke Llewellyn, as well as his daughter, Linda Llewellyn Stickley and her son, Kyle Stickley.  He was also predeceased by his daughter-in-law, Debbie Llewellyn and his granddaughter, Missy Painter.  David’s brother, John Llewellyn, and his parents also predeceased him.

David is survived by his sons, Ron Llewellyn (Corinne), Charlie Llewellyn and Steve Llewellyn (Vicky); his grandchildren, Andi Llewellyn Pollard (Matt), Matt Llewellyn (Molly), Michael Llewellyn, Steven Llewellyn, Amy Llewellyn Dodson (Shane) and Lane Llewellyn Mullin (Tommy); and his great-grandchildren, Claire and Graham Pollard, Kinley and Keaton Llewellyn, Natalie Llewellyn, Mary Jane, Shaneelee, Chance and Bear Dodson, Alexa, Bryley and Lillian Painter, Nathanial Thomas, and Kyle and Rory Mullin.

David Llewellyn’s burial will take place November 22 at 1:00 p.m. in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Front Royal, Virginia for family and friends.

David was an avid reader and would appreciate any donations in his memory be made to Samuels Public Library.
