Brenda Lea Jackson, 62, of Front Royal, Virginia went home to be with the Lord, her parents, husband, and siblings as well as many friends on Friday, January 16, 2026 in the comfort of her home.
A funeral service will be held at 12 P.M. on Friday, January 23, 2026 at Beulah Baptist Church, 3124 Beulah Rd, Markham, VA 22643 with Reverend Michael Ferguson officiating. The family requests that no one in attendance wear the color red, as Brenda did not think it was appropriate for a funeral, and the family invites guests to visit one hour prior to the service. Following all services, the burial will take place at Good Hope Cemetery, Front Royal. The family would like to invite everyone to share a meal and reminisce back at Beulah Baptist Church after leaving the cemetery.
Brenda was born March 23, 1963 in Front Royal, Virginia to the late Granville Lane Sr. and Vermel Elizabeth Williams Lane. She was also preceded in death by five sisters, Ellen Williams, Bessie Grigsby, Alice Williams, Mary Folks, and Audrey Lane; and three brothers, Granville Lane Jr., David Lane, and Jammie Lane
Surviving Brenda is her heartbeat and granddaughter, JaKaelyn “Lucy” Jackson; her daughter, Quintina Jackson (Buck); her son, Duane Matthews (Jessica); her grandsons, Sean Matthews, Izaiah Matthews, and Kaleb Matthews; her siblings, Estelle Ford, Jennie Champ, Jane Lane, Ellery Lane, Richard Lane, and Lindsey Lane; her god-daughter, Konanita Gilmore (Vernon); her admired friend, Skip Brown; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Brenda was a member of Beulah Baptist Church, often going with her friend, Skip. She loved to dance, sing in the choir, and spend time with her family, especially her heartbeat, Lucy. Every year Brenda made it a point to bring the family together for a cook out.
Pallbearers will be some of her loved nephews.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the family to assist with this difficult time.

We are so saddened to hear about Brenda. We’ll always remember Brenda’s incredible sense of humor and strength and love she had for her family. Much love and prayers during this of sorrow.
I was so stunned to hear of Brenda’s passing. I have worked with her for about the past six months on Wed.’s & Thursdays. We would have some conversations after the work was done. I knew from those talks that she was “right” with the Lord, and by the names of her family members she would talk about. I have no doubt she is in the presence of the Lord Jesus right now. Many of her close workers were crushed when they heard the news. And of course, she impacted many others in the building. They have asked me to give their condolences as it is difficult for them to take leave. I hope to make it there myself on Friday. As, we were both close in age, we actually had many things in common. Sometimes singing or remembering 1960’s, 70’s and 80’s songs. And faith, was always woven into conversations. She was very smart, much more than people thought. She had this unshakable dignity about her, and her work ethic was strong. Just as we are to work for people; and do our best – as if we are doing the job for the “Lord” Himself.
I am sure that many others where we worked will miss her; and have said so. May God Richley Bless your families, for now and forever. Steven P.
We are sending our heartfelt prayers to Brenda’s family ..All who knew Brenda short term or long time will remember her beautiful smile and her quiet demeanor. May Jehovah God, the God of tender mercies continue to wrap his arms around her loved ones during this difficult time.
Sincerely
Walter and Doryce Robinson
