Helen Elizabeth Jackson

Sunrise: September 20, 1932

Sunset: January 19, 2026

Helen worked outside the home for a period of time before dedicating her life to caring for her children. She was lovingly known at “The Mother of Markham”. Her door was always open to anyone in need of a place to stay for a hot meal. Helen was famous for her potato salad, a staple at every event and holiday gathering.

Helen was loved by everyone fortunate enough to know her. She never met a stranger and cherished spending time with her family. A truly caring, loving and passionate woman, her presence will be missed immensely and she will live in our hearts and minds forever.

Helen is survived by her seven children, four sons and three daughters, Thomas Jackson, Joseph Jackson, Warren Jackson, Wayne Jackson, Peggy porter, Mary Fowlkes and Linda Jackson. She also leaves behind her “ride or die”, Omari Weaver; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by Samuel R. Jackson Sr., Samuel R. Jackson Jr., Andrew Jackson, Brenda Cook, her parents, her siblings, two daughters-in-law and a grandson.

Services will be Saturday, January 31 at Maddox Funeral Home with the viewing at 11 a.m. and the service following.

Pallbearers will be Thomas Jackson, Joseph Jackson, Warren Jackson, Wayne Jackson, Patrick Jackson and John Porter.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of her family.
