Donna Rae Najera, 62 of Edinburg entered the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday February 13, 2026, at Winchester Medical Center.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday February 21, 2026, at 11am at Maddox Funeral Home with Pastor Carl Menefee officiating. Internment will follow at Reliance Cemetery in Middletown.
Donna was born April 17, 1963, in Front Royal, Virginia, daughter of the late Marie Catherine Hamilton and Allen Middleton Stead.
Donna attended Strasburg High School. She later went on to college earning her business degree with a focus in management from Lord Fairfax Community College in 2014. Donna worked many years in construction owning her own painting business. Donna retired from Kraft Foods in Winchester. She was a member of the Front Royal Baptist Temple and Fraternal Order of the Eagles. Donna enjoyed writing poetry, painting, camping, going to the beach, and traveling. Being a Grammy was one of Donna’s greatest joys. Most of all Donna loved spending time with her family.
Surviving are her loving husband her soulmate of 41 years Jaime Najera-Huerta; two sons Stephen Leake of Galax, Geoffrey Van Anden (Jessica) of Strasburg; two Grandsons David Van Anden and Jaime Van Anden; Stepfather Preston Hamilton of Front Royal and Stepmother Sandra Stead of Edinburg; one sister Marie Campbell of Edinburg; three brothers Edward Stead (Doris) of Strasburg, Michael Stead (Sherri) of Toms Brook, and Mark Hamilton (Mary) of Front Royal; one brother-in-law Alvaro Najera-Huerta (Guadalupe) of New Market and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Pallbearers will be David Van Anden, Jaime Van Anden, Cody Stead, Christopher Savell, Austin Hamilton, and Alvaro Najera-Huerta.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Ross Van Anden, Jason Kibler, Ryan Rohrbaugh, and Ethan Caperton.
The family will receive friends on Friday February 20 from 6-8p.m. at Maddox Funeral Home.
