Mary Anna Mahoney North, 78, of Front Royal, VA went to be with her husband February 14, 2016 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Mrs. North was born October 30, 1937 in Huntly, Virginia to the late Noah H. and Florence V. Johnson Mahoney. She was the loving wife of the late George Washington North, Jr. until December 25, 2013.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 19, at Chester Gap Baptist Church at 2:00 PM with Pastor Jimmy Burke officiating. A visitation will be held on Thursday, February 18, from 6-8 PM at Maddox Funeral Home, Front Royal. Burial will be at Williams Family Cemetery, Chester Gap, VA.

She previously worked for MacRoyal Laundry, the Old Virginia Packing House and Harmony Hollow Orchard. Her real passion was for her daughter and granddaughters as well as making the family’s famous apple butter. She was a member of Chester Gap Baptist Church.

Survivors include her daughter, Pamela L. Williams and granddaughters Jennifer R. Williams and Wendy D. Williams of whom she helped raise, all of Front Royal; two sisters, Elizabeth Riley of Strasburg, VA and Annie Walters of Browntown, VA; brother, James Mahoney of Chester Gap; sister-in-law, Mabel Henderson of Front Royal; brother-in-law, Anderson North of Chester Gap and many nieces and nephews whom she loved, including Arnold, Peanut, and Johnny whom she helped raise.

She was predeceased by her brothers, George, Edward, Presley, Noah Sr., Marshall, Charles and Walter Sr.
