Mary A. Shaw

Mary A. Shaw, 67, of Front Royal, Virginia passed away on Wednesday, June 24, 2026 at her home.

Mrs. Shaw was born on October 17, 1958 in Wichita, Kansas to the late Charles and Bernadine Moore.  She spent years as a stay-at-home mom before returning to the work force.  Her career was in writing, editing and quality control.  Most recently she was a quality director for Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC).  She was a proud member of Mensa and a trained classical pianist.  Mary was also an avid reader and loved horses, almost as much as she loved her cats.

I did not know your mother, but I will say we were friends on Facebook because of Lara and Stephanie’s friendship and she always made comments when I posted something and they were so kind Lara. I sent my condolences to you and your family and your mama is a beautiful soul God bless you all.

I’m holding all of you close and covering you in prayer. When I turned around and saw you Wednesday, I knew it wasn’t a coincidence. I had been putting it off since Monday, making that stop. I’m heartbroken that’s how we met, Lara. Your Mom was so special and I can’t think about life without her in yours and your dad’s. There’s really no words for this type of loss but please know you’re never alone navigating it.
