Joyce Ellen Meadows Powell, 79, passed away on Saturday, October 31, 2026 in her Strasburg, Virginia home surrounded by her family.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 5 at Maddox Funeral Home, 105 W. Main Street, Front Royal, Virginia. Following the service, the burial will take place in Prospect Hill Cemetery.
Surviving Joyce is her daughter, Kathleen Bloxom; her son-in-law, Trip Bloxom; her stepchildren, Darren Powell and Dina Alley; her grandchildren, William Bloxom, Rebekah Edge, Garrett Powell, Madeline Sudduth, and Joseph Lewis; five great-grandchildren; her sister, Carolyn Baumes; her niece, Kim Lane; and her nephew, Ronnie Baumes.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Mary Meadows; her brothers, Gary and Randy Meadows; and her beloved husband, Donald Wayne Powell.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Joyce’s honor to the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews.
