Juanita Jones Mathews, 96, of Front Royal, Virginia, passed away on Thursday, June 23, 2016 at Lynn Care Center at Warren Memorial Hospital.

Graveside funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 2, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Front Royal with Sammy Campbell officiating.

Mrs. Mathews was born July 5, 1919 in Limeton, Virginia at Spangler Hall to the late Grover Cleveland Jones and Petronella Rudacille Jones. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Heaton Mathews, Jr.

She worked as a clerk for the Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service and retired in the early eighties. She also enjoyed golf, card games and puzzles and travelled extensively.

Survivors include her son, Jerry Heaton Mathews of Charlottesville, Virginia; daughter, Sherrill Mathews Courtney of State Line, Pennsylvania; six grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Friday, July 1, 2016 from 6 to 8 PM at Maddox Funeral Home, 105 West Main Street, Front Royal.
