Max A. Clatterbuck, Sr.

Max ClatterbuckMax A. Clatterbuck, Sr., 89, of Winchester and formerly of Front Royal, passed away on Monday, July 4, 2016, in the Winchester Medical Center.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 9, at 11:00 a.m. at Maddox Funeral Home conducted by the Rev. Barry Burkholder and the Rev. Dr. Randall E. Webb. Interment will follow in the Shenandoah Memorial Park in Winchester.

Mr. Clatterbuck was born in Page County, son of the late William Clatterbuck, Sr. and Eula Eppard Clatterbuck. He served his country proudly in the United States Navy during WWII. He retired from Potomac Edison after 33 dedicated years. Mr. Clatterbuck was a member of the Emmanuel United Methodist Church and formerly attended Nineveh and Buckton Presbyterian Churches for many years. He loved the outdoors and especially enjoyed working in his vegetable and flower gardens. Other favorite activities were walking with his dogs and fishing. He will be sadly missed by his family and many friends.

Surviving are his wife of 19 years, Donna Clatterbuck; one son, Max A. Clatterbuck, Jr. and wife Mary of Gore; one daughter, Debbie Brady of Stephenson; three step-sons, Raymond Sargent, Michael Sargent, and Richard Sargent, all of Reliance; one step-daughter, Janice Hottle of Stephens City; one sister, Doris Comer and husband, Ralph of Newport News; three grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren; and nine step great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 32 years, Barbara Comer Clatterbuck, his parents, one brother, three sisters, and son-in-law, Jack Brady.

Pallbearers will be Randy Nelson, Al Cereghino, Ricky Comer, Douglas Comer, Eddie Zigler, and Brian Ingram.

The family will receive friends on Friday, July 8, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to The American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
