Marie Frances Vermillion

Marie Frances Vermillion, 93, of Stephens City, formerly of Front Royal, passed away on Monday, August 1, 2016, at Amerisist in Stephens City.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 4th, at 2:00 p.m. at Maddox Funeral Home in Front Royal conducted by The Rev. James Baseler. Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery in Strasburg.

Mrs. Vermillion was born November 25, 1922, in Hagerstown, Maryland, daughter of the late Robert and Beulah Bowers Fisher. She was married to the late James M. Vermillion, Sr.

Mrs. Vermillion retired from the Central Intelligence Agency after 24 years of service. She was a long time member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Front Royal.

Surviving are two sons James M. Vermillion, Jr. of Stephens City and his wife Anne and Jerry A. Vermillion of Strasburg and his wife Mary; a daughter Linda Launders of Woodstock; a brother John Fisher of Stuarts Draft; a son-in-law Albert Felicio, Sr. of Winchester; six grandchildren Melissa Taylor, Daniel Vermillion, Jerry Vermillion, Jr., Kimberly Harwood, Douglas Ramos, Jr., and Marci Ramos; ten great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her daughter JoAnn V. Felicio; three brothers; two sisters; and a granddaughter.

Pallbearers will be her grandchildren.

Honorary pallbearers will be Joseph Darr, Ronald Darr, and Douglas Ramos, Sr.

The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
