Dannie “D.D.” Southers, III, 16, of Front Royal, passed away suddenly on Saturday, August 13, 2016, in the Warren Memorial Hospital.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 17, at 2:00 p.m. at Maddox Funeral Home with Sammy Campbell officiating. Interment will follow in the Ivy Hill Cemetery in Upperville.

D.D. was born on August 22, 1999, in Leesburg, son of Dannie Calvin Southers, Jr. and Kathy Lee Fewell Southers.

D.D. planned on completing 11th and 12th grade this year through the Brighter Futures program so he could graduate from Skyline High School with the Class of 2017. He will be truly missed by his family and many friends.

Surviving with his parents are his maternal grandmother Shirley Davis of Harpers Ferry, WV; one brother Andrew Edwards of Front Royal; six sisters Angel Edwards, Kayla Southers, Abigail Southers all of Front Royal, Valerie Proffitt of Boyce, Ashley Barthlow of Martinsburg, WV, and Samantha Robinson of Winchester; four brothers-in-law Joe, Kip, Donald, and Jody; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Pallbearers will be Joseph Owens, Mark Southers, Donald Proffitt, William Snyder, Kip Kanavel, and Cody Kanavel.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 17, from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
