Dorothy Ellen Whitlock Pinkerton passed away August 18, 2016. Known as Dottie to her friends, she was the widow of Frank H. Pinkerton who died July 28, 2010.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Good Shepherd Evangelical Lutheran Church in Front Royal with Rev. Dr. Neal R. Davidson officiating. Burial will follow at Prospect Hill Cemetery in Front Royal.
She was born July 27, 1922 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Dorothy was active in her church, Good Shepherd Lutheran and for many years she served in the Warren Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and in R.S.V. P.
She liked doing knitting, reading, crossword puzzles and playing the piano. Dorothy also loved her various dogs, cats and her horse, Charlie. Her parents were Raymond C. Whitlock and Ellen (Bourrillion) Whitlock who were from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Dorothy is survived by June (Drew) Arnold of Gore, Virginia and Donna (Terry Schluchter) Woody of Elmore, Ohio as well as three grandchildren, Thomas M. Dickinson, Jr., Toni English and A. Travis Arnold; and four great grandchildren, Iain and Colin Dickinson and Brandon and Sarah English.
Memorial contributions may be made to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Front Royal.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 23, 2016 from 7 to 9 P.M. at Maddox Funeral Home.
