My beloved mother, Gertrude Dorothy Boyd, 88, of Front Royal, Virginia passed away on Saturday, December 17, 2016 at Warren Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at 10:00 AM at Maddox Funeral Home, 105 West Main Street, Front Royal with Pastor Happy Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in Panorama Memorial Gardens, Waterlick, Virginia where she will be laid to rest next to my father, Thomas Eugene Boyd.

Mrs. Boyd was born on May 21, 1928 in Warren County, Virginia to the late Charles Ernest Kuser and Ella Virginia Fox Kuser. She was a homemaker and the wife of the late Thomas Eugene Boyd. Married in 1945, they were married for 54 years before he went to meet his Lord.

Survivors include her son, Roger Lee Boyd, Sr. (Carol) of Front Royal; daughter-in-law, Darlene Boyd of Woodstock, Virginia; three grandchildren, Roger Lee Boyd, Jr. and Christine Boyd Ruffner both of Front Royal and Stephen Eugene Boyd of Woodstock and four great grandchildren, Chelsea LeAnn Ruffner, Brady Lee Ruffner, Anjelica Lee Boyd and Halie Anne Elizabeth Conroy all of Front Royal.

She was preceded in death by her son, Daniel Eugene Boyd and three brothers, Charles S. Kuser, Reuben W. Kuser and Aubrey Lee Kuser.

My precious mother was a member of the Church of God in Front Royal for many years.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Roger Lee Boyd, Jr. and Stephen Eugene Boyd and her nephews, Charles W. Boyd and John Kuser. Also serving will be Jody Ruffner and Matthew Boyd.

Honorary pallbearers will be her granddaughter, Christine Boyd Ruffner and great granddaughters, Chelsea LeAnn Ruffner, Anjelica Lee Boyd and Halie Anne Elizabeth Conroy and her nieces, Rosa Cusick, Linda Goodman, Patricia Ann Williams and Virginia Cave.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
