John G. King, 63, of Front Royal, Virginia passed away on Friday, January 6, 2017 in Linden, Virginia.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Maddox Funeral Home, 105 West Main Street, Front Royal with Sammy Campbell officiating. Burial will follow in Prospect Hill Cemetery.

Mr. King was born on August 2, 1953 in Norfolk, Virginia to the late Robert Lee King and Geraldine Hall King. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Robert Keith King.

He retired as a Game Warden from the Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries and was a Marine Corps Veteran of the Vietnam War.

Survivors include his companion, Sharon Deavers of Linden; sister, Nancy L. King Hines of Augusta, West Virginia and several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Blue Ridge Hospice, the Shenandoah National Park Service or a charity of one’s choice.
