Donald Jerry “Duck” Furr, Sr., 76, of Front Royal, passed away on Sunday, July 9, 2017, in the Martinsburg V.A. Center in Martinsburg, WV.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 14, at 2:00 p.m. at Maddox Funeral Home conducted by Sammy Campbell. Interment will follow in the Prospect Hill Cemetery with military honors.

Duck was born on November 29, 1940 in Front Royal, son of the late Woodrow Furr and Lucille Amanda Figgins Furr Lewis. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and retired after many years from Fred H. Bordon Plumbing. Duck was a member of the Giles B. Cook Post 53 of the American Legion and the V.F.W. Post 1860.

Surviving are his loving and devoted wife of 53 years Greta J. Furr; three sons Joey Rhodes of Stephens City, Donnie J. Furr, Jr. of Stephens City, and Andy Furr of Front Royal; two grandsons Kevin Rhodes, II of Bunker Hill, WV and Joey Rhodes, II of Stephens City; two granddaughters Jill Sours of Strasburg and Heather Furr of Front Royal; six great-grandchildren Braydon DeCristofaro, Jordon DeCristofaro, Camden Rhodes, Kobe Compton, Harper Rhodes, and Kaynen Wines.

He was preceded in death by a son Kevin Rhodes.

Pallbearers will be Kevin Rhodes, II, Joey Rhodes, II, T.J. DeCristofaro, Bobby Smith, Jr., Junior Talbott, and Tony Smith.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 13, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
