Linda Sparks Newman, 62, of Front Royal, and formerly of Winchester, passed away on Sunday, August 13, 2017, in the Blue Ridge Hospice in Winchester.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 22, at 11:00 a.m. at Maddox Funeral Home with Sammy Campbell officiating. Interment will follow in the Stonewall Memory Gardens in Manassas.
Linda was born on July 6, 1955 in Manassas, VA, daughter of Norma E. Mauck Waddell of Woodstock and the late Robert H. Sparks, Sr. and Irving W. Waddell, Jr.
She was preceded in death by her two fathers and one sister Brenda A. Waddell; and one brother Robert H. “Little Bobby” Sparks, Jr.
Linda worked for Ulta in Woodbridge as a cosmetician and hairdresser until her retirement.
Surviving with her mother are one daughter Lenora “Lynn” Hogan and fiancé Jason “Jake” Campbell of Front Royal; one son John E. Newman, Jr. and wife Christy A. Newman of Linden: four brothers Dale Sparks of Louisa County, Ronald Sparks of Hume, Michael Waddell of Rappahannock County, and Samuel Sparks of Richmond; two sisters Darlene Stanley of Manassas, and Pamela Sheetz of Brentsville; and eleven grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Jake Campbell, John E. Newman, III, Michael Waddell, Ronald Sparks, William Newman, Jr., and Charles lee.
Honorary pallbearers will be Zachary Marquess, and Ryan Campbell.
The family will receive friends on Monday, August 21 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
