Cornell Staples Stoots, 83, of Front Royal, VA went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, August 29, 2017.

The family will receive friends on Friday, September, 1 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Maddox Funeral Home in Front Royal followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. conducted by Pastor Steve Guizar. Burial will follow in Panorama Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Stoots was born September 27, 1933 in Fredericksburg, VA, daughter of the late John Enoch Staples, Sr. and Elsie Mae Chewning Staples. She was a graduate of Calverton High School in 1950 and retired as a bookkeeper for Blue Mountain Construction Company. Mrs. Stoots was a charter member Front Royal Church of the Nazarene.

Surviving are her husband Howard Lewis Stoots of Front Royal; three daughters Sharon Bayne and husband Matt of Beaver Dam, VA, Melodie Carter of Williamsburg, VA, and Donna Laing and husband Larry of Gore, VA; one brother John E. Staples, Jr. and wife Pat of Stephens City, VA; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; her loving and faithful caretakers Pat and David Tharpe; her loving sister through marriage Jeanie Stoots; and all of her loving church members. She was preceded in death by a son Daniel Stoots; and a sister Joyce Staples.

Pallbearers will be Larry Laing, Nathan Laing, Matt Bayne, Paul Otworth, Brian Staples, and Travis Carter.

Honorary pallbearers will be Alvin Robinson and Cory Laing.
