Rita Sue Dunbar, 63, of Front Royal, passed away on Sunday, October 22, 2017, in the Winchester Medical Center.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 26, at 11:00 a.m. at Maddox Funeral Home with Pastor Bobby Stepp officiating. Interment will follow in the Prospect Hill Cemetery

Rita was born on November 30, 1953, in Grundy, Virginia, daughter of the late Edgar Monroe Killen and Gencie Ann Duty Killen.

Surviving are her devoted husband of forty-one years William M. Dunbar, Sr.; one son William M. “Billy” Dunbar, Jr. and wife Leah of Front Royal; two daughters Pepper Dunbar of Front Royal and Amanda Jenkins and husband Jesse of Woodville, Virginia; three sisters Reba Ritter of Floyd, Virginia, Betty Haislip and Diana Grigsby both of Front Royal; grandchildren Susan Plaugher, Alexis Haley, Katie Egnor, Jossie Frederick, Weston Dunbar, Trey Dunbar, Hezakia Jenkins, Ava Jenkins, Raeann Ritenour, and Dustin Ritenour; two great-grandchildren Michael Baldwin, Jr. and Adaline Haley; and many other family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by a son Joey Ritenour.

Pallbearers will be Michael Baldwin, Sr., RC Cook, Billy Dunbar, Gary Funk, Troy Henry, and Jesse Jenkins.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 25, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
