William James “Bill” Devlin

William James “Bill” Devlin, 87, of Front Royal, VA, died on Tuesday, October 24, 2017.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 10 at 4:00 p.m. at Pawling Independent Baptist Church in Phoenixville, PA. Inurnment will be held on Saturday, November 11, at 10:00 a.m. at Philadelphia Memorial Park in Frazer, PA with military honors.

Mr. Devlin was born January 9, 1930 in Phoenixville, PA, son of the late Louis C. Devlin and Marie Clark Devlin. He was a US Air Force veteran and was a camp director for Girl Scouts of America. Mr. Devlin retired as camp director for the YMCA. He was a member and past president of the Shenandoah Astronomical Society and he and his late wife Eva were responsible for the design and implementation of the sundial in The Commons area in Front Royal.

Surviving are his children William Devlin of Elverson, PA, Lorraine Welch-Morse of Neversink, NY, Eileen Moriarty of Fort Valley, VA and Patti Nappi of Berlin, CT; one brother Robert Devlin of PA; one sister Marie Olearsek of PA; and six grandchildren Tina Tynecki, Tom Welch, Sam Zappia, Ricky Nappi, Jasmine Nappi, and Jessica Nappi. He was married to the late Eva Mae Roberts Devlin.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation, 200 SE 1st Street, Suite 800, Miami, FL 33131.
