Carl Garfield “Bug” Henry, Jr., 77, of Front Royal, passed away on Wednesday, November 1, 2017, in the Consulate Care of Woodstock.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, November 5, at 11:00 a.m. at Maddox Funeral Home with Sammy Campbell. Interment will follow in the Prospect Hill Cemetery.

Bug was born on June 17, 1940 in Front Royal, son of the late Carl Garfield Henry, Sr. and Cora Virginia Cook Henry. He worked many years for the Blue Ridge Opportunities in Front Royal. He loved coaching baseball. He was married to the late Doris Mae Showers Henry.

Surviving are three brothers Robert “Jack” Henry of Front Royal, Thomas Eugene “Tommy” Henry of Stephens City and James Edward “Jimmy” Henry of Front Royal; four sisters Catherine Jeanette “Net” Stacey of Front Royal, Mildred Elizabeth “Libby” Funk of Front Royal, Mary Ellen Knight of Front Royal and Ruth Anne “Ruthie” Glover of Winchester.

Pallbearers will be Michael Henry, Tommy Knight, Jr., Jason Derflinger, Gene Airhart, Jr., Anthony Airhart, Sr. and Justin Henry.

Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Henry, Jr., Stephan Glover, Hunter Derflinger and Aiden Adkins.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 4 from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
