Charlene Jones Puffenberger, 61, of Stephens City, Virginia passed away unexpectedly after battling a long illness on December 2, 2018.

Charlene was active in her community. She was a past member of the Madison County Rescue Squad and Madison County Humane Society. After moving to Stephens City, Charlene continued her volunteer work as a member of Stephens City Rescue Squad and Animal Allies. Never embarrassed of her illness, she continued to help others as being a member and facilitator of the Northern Alliance of Mental Illness (NAMI) of the Northern Shenandoah Valley.

A family memorial service will be held at a later date.

She is survived by Don, her husband of 34 years.
