Daniel T. McEathron, 58, of Front Royal, Virginia, Passed away on Tuesday, May 28 at his home.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, June 3 at 4:00 p.m. at Riverton United Methodist Church with The Rev. Dr. Vince McLaughlin officiating. Interment will be private.
Danny was born on May 13, 1961, in St. Ignace, Michigan son of Gene and Vivian L. McEathron of Front Royal. He retired as Sheriff of Warren County dedicating 37 years of service, the last 16 of those years serving as your sheriff. He was a member of law enforcement and numerous civic organizations. Danny will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and his Warren County Sheriff’s office family.
Surviving with his parents are his loving and devoted wife of 36 years Donna McEathron; son Elijah Daniel McEathron and wife Kristina of Virginia Beach; daughter Alayna Rae McEathron and fiancé Eric Stewart of Front Royal; one brother David G. McEathron and wife Jackie of Texas; three sisters Debra L. Hite and husband Bruce of Front Royal, Dori Ann McEathron of Kilmarnock and Deana Marie Goss and husband Dave of Front Royal; several nieces; nephews; and cousins.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Warren County Sheriff’s Department.
The family will receive friends on Monday, June 3 from 2-4 p.m. at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Warren County Sheriff’s Youth Camp or to the Humane Society of Warren County, 1245 Progress Drive, Front Royal, Virginia 22630.
Danny was a great person who will be missed by many. Prayers of peace to the family.
I was born, raised, and lived most of my life in Front Royal / Warren Co. I knew / knew of Danny through small town proximity and family connections for everyone of those years, and I never knew him as anything but a good man, citizen, and community leader. We are better for having him, and for his service all these years.
To his family, friends, and all who grieve, know that he was recognized, respected and appreciated for his leadership and service to his community. And, that he will be missed.

I will never forget 2 years after my daughter went to sheriff’s camp we walked onto 7-11 and he was there and knew her by name, he was great with the kids in this town! He will be greatly missed! Thoughts and prayers are with the family.

Our hearts are broken as Danny and family are life long friends. Danny will always be remembered for his gentle kind heart for people and the community of Front Royal. We will be praying for the family not just today or tomorrow however always.

He was a wonderful boss, and a friend. He ran our office (and his life) with a strong sense of integrity, fairness and a good sense of humor.
His officers all looked up to him and he earned our utmost respect. During my time there, I always felt like I had 100% support from him and many times he came out and helped with animal rescue situations.
He will be missed by all who had the privilege of working for him or knowing him. A terrible loss for everyone.

Danny was a great man, he was always willing to share (or ask) for some advice or offer up some humor, just when I needed it the most. Danny being a car guy, would often joke with me about my “speeding” down Rt340 or my choice in automotive brands. Danny, I pray that you found peace.

We lived on Markham Street at that time and he lived on the corner. All of this has really saddened me about the whole situation.
