Frances Atkins Foster, 82, of Washington, Virginia passed away on Friday, September 13, 2019 at Warren Memorial Hospital.

She was born March 28, 1937, in Sperryville, Virginia and was the daughter of the late Burnam Hudson Atkins and Sallie Frances Jenkins Atkins.

Ms. Foster retired from serving as Rappahannock County Treasurer for 52 years. Ms. Foster was a member of the Washington Baptist Church.

Surviving are three sisters, Julia Atkins of Sperryville, Shirley Berry of Washington and Mary Lee Atkins of Washington. She is also survived by a devoted nephew Anthony Berry and a great niece Abigail Berry and great nephew Andy Berry whom she thought of them as if they were her own.

A funeral service will take place on September 26, 2019 at 1:00 P.M. at Washington Baptist Church on 180 Gay St. Washington, Virginia 22747 followed by the interment at the Washington Masonic Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Anthony Berry, Anthony E. Berry Jr., Ricky Shaw, Jack Jenkins, Earl Jewell and Jack Atkins.
