Leighsa Gwen Morris, 64, of Woodstock, Virginia passed away on Thursday, March 18, 2021 in the Shenandoah Memorial Hospital in Woodstock.

Gwen was born November 13, 1956, in Wichita Falls, Texas daughter of The Rev. Levi Floyd of Oklahoma and the late Nettie Bell Williams Floyd.

She was a member of the Church of the Living God where she ministered the word of God, was choir director and did outreach ministry. She was always there whenever she was needed. Gwen loved and blessed all who knew her and was loved by many.

Gwen also worked many years as a property manager.

Surviving with her father are a son Leo Morris and wife Jamie of Front Royal; two brothers Rodney Floyd and Reginald Floyd both of Albuquerque, New Mexico; two sisters Sheila Jones of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Regina Lee of Minneapolis, Minnesota; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Don’t mourn for me.

Don’t grieve for me, for now I’m free,
I’m following the path God laid for me.
I took his hand when I heard his call,
I turned my back and left it all.

I could not stay another day,
To laugh, to love, to work, to play.
Tasks left undone must stay that way,
I’ve found that peace at the end of the day.

If my parting has left a void,
Then fill it with remembered joy.
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss,
Ah, yes, these things too I will miss.

Be not burdened with times of sorrow,
I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow.
My Life’s been full, I savored much,
Good friends, good times, a loved one’s touch.

Perhaps my time seemed all too brief,
Don’t lengthen it now with undue grief.
Lift up your heart and share with me,
God wanted me now, He set me free.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Church of The Living God c/o The Rev. Levi Floyd 317 South 12th Street, Frederick, Oklahoma 75423.

I Truly Thank God for sending Gwen to me as a sister. I was born on her birthday and she was a 2nd Mom to me.

“Don’t you know no other song?” She asked me as I sang Pass Me Not. After that; She taught me Life.
Through SCRIPTURES..The whole family pitched in. Her choir was untouchable. We still today honor her teachings in song.
To me, she’s not my loss (lost) I know where she is – FACE TO FACE with HIM.
I CAN ONLY IMAGINE. LOVE BONNIE DEE GREATHOUSE
