Barbara “Bobbie” Jean Lively-Diebold, 87, of Front Royal, Virginia passed away on Sunday, February 18, 2024 in the comfort of her home.

A private memorial service will take place on June 1, 2024 by invite only.

Bobbie had a love of plants from a very early age and became a respected horticulturalist who volunteered with the Morton Arboretum in Dupage County, Illinois and taught horticulture classes both in Illinois and in the Washington D.C. area over the years. She was active with several gardening clubs and successfully cultivated many unique varieties of plant species. Always passionate about the people and things she loved, she will be greatly missed.

Surviving Bobbie is her loving husband, Robert E. Diebold; her daughters, Dana and Andrea with her husband, Jack; her stepsons, Dan with his wife, Peggy, Mike with his wife, Julia, Steve with his wife, Cecile, and Bruce; her grandchildren; Aiden, Kate, Matthew, Alex, John, Paul, Shain, Gwen, Alexander S., Gabrielle, and Xavier.

Bobbie was born on December 12, 1936 in Sunset, Louisiana to her late mother, Leota and her late father, Charles. She is also preceded in death by her daughter, Bonnie; who is survived by her husband Robbie; and her sister, Charlene; who is survived by her husband, Charlie and their daughters, Robin and Leslie.
