Barbara Ellen Streets, 78, of Front Royal, Virginia, passed away on Friday, April 9, 2021, at Winchester Medical Center.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 16 at 2:00 p.m. at Maddox Funeral Home with Sammy Campbell officiating. Interment will follow in Panorama Memorial Gardens at Waterlick.

Barbara was born March 28, 1943, in Hinton, West Virginia, daughter of the late Owen F. Burdette and Pearl Young Burdette. She worked at Avtex, Capital Records, and Gunter Apiaries and was a stay-at-home mother. She loved to gamble at bingo and Charles Town Races and Slot, was a member of the Ladies’ Auxiliary of the V.F.W. and a member of the Women of the Moose #1194. She loved her family, friends and cats.

Surviving are her companion of twenty-seven years John W. Rice of Front Royal; two daughters Karen Speakman and husband Donny of Winchester and Pamela Williams and husband Bobby of Front Royal; son Kevin Streets and wife Terri of Manassas; loved as daughters Shelly Cook and Terry Rice both of Front Royal; sisters-in-law Ruby Souder of Front Royal and Barbara Burdette of Fairfax; five grandchildren who she loved dearly Shane Streets of Front Royal, Alicia Vincent of Winchester, Chad Speakman of Winchester, Michael Speakman of Winchester and Justin Streets of Manassas, along with many other great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of twenty-five years Glenn M. Streets of Front Royal; five brothers Spurgeon “Spud” Souder of Front Royal, Pete Burdette of California, Ben Burdette of Fairfax, Bill Burdette of New Market and Bobbie Souder of Front Royal.

Pallbearers will be Chad Speakman, Michael Speakman, Rick Souder, Chuck Vincent, Kelly Snyder and William Speakman.

Honorary pallbearers will be Kevin Streets and Shane Streets.

The family will receive friends on Friday, April 16 from 1-2 p.m. at the funeral home.
