David B. Haun, 78, of Front Royal, passed away on Friday, June 23, 2017, in the Winchester Medical Center.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 6, 2017, at 10:00 a.m., at Maddox Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Culpeper National Cemetery with military honors.

Mr. Haun was born March 25, 1939, in Hume, VA son of the late Edward M. Haun, Sr. and Mary Terresa Knight Haun. He was a U.S. Army veteran and employed with Rappawan until his retirement.

Surviving are his wife of 51 years Elizabeth Ann “Libby” Kidwell Haun; two brothers Loy Haun and Guy Haun and Karen both of Front Royal; three sisters Mary Loughry, Joyce Cameron and husband Maxie, and Barbara Jean Skidmore and husband Roger all of Front Royal; Charlene Smelser whom he raised as a daughter; and many nieces, and nephews.

Mr. Haun was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.

Pallbearers will be Roger Woodell, Tony Haun, Robert Kidwell, Codey Smelser, Corey Smelser, and Brandon Ross.
Honorary pallbearers will be Mason Riggleman and Roger Smelser, Jr.

The family will receive friends on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
