Dorothy Virginia “Dottie” Lewis

Dorothy Virginia “Dottie” Lewis, 84, of Front Royal, Virginia passed away on Thursday, August 22, 2019 at her home.

A service will be held on Wednesday August 28, 2019 at 11 A.M. at Maddox Funeral Home in Front Royal with Adrian Hines officiating alongside Rev. Fowlkes and Rev. Johnson. Burial will follow at Good Hope Cemetery.

Mrs. Lewis was born on November 5, 1934 in Riverton, Virginia to the late George and Lena Williams. Dottie was also preceded in death by a brother, Sherman Williams; a sister, Betty Morton; one son, Marvin Lewis; and a daughter, Jennifer Lewis.

She was a Reverend for Shiloh Baptist church and she was a long time Certified Nursing Assistant at Heritage Hall nursing home.

Survivors include her husband, George H. Lewis; her children, Jerome Lewis and spouse (Nanneane), Rosalind Miller (Calvin), Mary Jackson (William), Bradley Lewis (Linda) and Curtis Lewis (Virginia); her siblings, Nellie Paige (Benjamin), Pauline Ewell (Oscar), Louise Gaskins (Lawrence-deceased) and Clarence Williams (Linda); a sister in law, Letha Williams; her grandchildren, Jeronica, Joshua, Antionette, Tyrome, Victoria, Ylonda, Lakisha, Calvin Jr., Lynden, Curtis Jr., Caleb, Cameron and Christian; as well as a host of great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Tyrome Jackson, Joshua Carter, Caleb Lewis, Curtis Lewis Jr., Christian Lewis and Cameron Lewis.

Honorary Pallbearers include Clarence Baltimore, John Carter, Theodore Warner and Willy Reynolds.

Friends are welcome to join the family at The First Baptist Church at 14 W 1st St. in Front Royal following all services.

    Thanks be to God who causes us to triumph even in times of mourning! Cousin Dottie served God with her whole heart. Thank God for 84 years. I pray that the entire family will experience God’s peace and always cherish the wonderful memories. I will remember her beautiful smile. With love, Cousin Janis Wright
