Eleanor White Cowan, 99, of Front Royal, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 7, 2017.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, November 14, at 1:00 p.m. at Maddox Funeral Home. A private inurnment will be held at a later date in Prospect Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:30 p.m. until 1:00 p.m.at the funeral home.

Mrs. Cowan was born in Warren County, the sixth of seven children of the late C.H. and Lavinia White. She attended Longwood College, taught school locally for over thirty years, and was a member of Calvary Episcopal Church.

Surviving are her daughter, Dancy Cowan; one brother, Robert White; three nieces and two nephews and their families; and several cousins.

The family wants to thank the staff of Commonwealth Senior Living and Blue Ridge Hospice for all of their care and kindness.
