Elmer Samuel “Junior” Williams, 81, of Warren County, passed away on Tuesday, July 5, 2016, in his daughter’s home.
A funeral service will be conducted on Sunday, July 10, at 2:00 p.m. at Maddox Funeral Home with the Rev. Alfred Woods officiating. Interment will follow in the Williams Family Cemetery at Chester Gap.
Junior was born on September 14, 1934, in Front Royal son of the late Samuel Elmer “Dickie” Williams and Anna Savella Cook Williams. He worked many years for the Royal Haven Rest Home in Front Royal.
Surviving are three sons Wayne “Rooster” Williams and fiancée Hilda, Christopher McIntosh and fiancée Sarah Hicks, all of Front Royal, and Sam McIntosh and wife Cynthia of Luray; three daughters Tina Williams, Teresa Williams and husband Greg and Stacy Sullivan and husband Joe all of Front Royal; one brother Kenny Williams of Front Royal; two sisters Mary Jean Campbell and Petsy Taylor both of Front Royal; four grandchildren Ashley Williams, Justin Williams, Terren Sullivan, and Hunter McIntosh; eight step-grandchildren; one great-granddaughter Kyleigh Williams; and longtime companion and friend Linda Andrews of Front Royal.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son Michael McIntosh; and one grandson Joseph Nathaniel Sullivan.
Pallbearers will be Kenny Williams, Chris McIntosh, Sam McIntosh, Joe Sullivan, Justin Williams, and Terren Sullivan.
Honorary pallbearers will be Tommy Williams, Chuckie Henry, Don Smelser, and Bobby Rutherford.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 9, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
