Ermand Wilson Morris, 93, of Front Royal, passed away on Monday, May 23, 2016, in the Blue Ridge Hospice Inpatient Center in Winchester.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 28, at 12:00 p.m. at the Williams Family Cemetery with the Rev Jimmy Burke and Pastor Mike McCartney.
Mr. Morris was born on March 15, 1923, in Green County, son of the late Prentiss and Ronie Morris.
He was a charter and founding member of the Chester Gap Fire Department and a member of the Chester Gap Baptist Church. He also attended First Assembly of God Church in Front Royal.
Mr. Morris was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife Phyllis Williams Morris; one grandson Rocky Morris; step-grandson Trent Williams; two brothers; and three sisters.
Surviving are his wife Margaret Burke Morris; two sons Ronald A. Morris and wife Barbara of Chester Gap, and Roger L. Morris and wife Jerri of Browntown; three step-daughters Nancy Hively and husband Bobby; Kathrine Martin and husband George , and Margaret Williams and husband Duane; one brother Lebert Morris and wife Betty of Front Royal; one sister Mrs. Frankie Knight of Waldorf, MD; two grandsons Aaron Morris and wife Susie, and Issac Morris and wife Jessica; several step-grandchildren; several step-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces; and numerous nephews.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 28, from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at the Chester Gap Baptist Church.
Pallbearers will be Aaron Morris, Issac Morris, Jeff Leake, Donald G. Williams, Will Harris, and Duane Williams.
