Frances Ann (Lambert) Simmons, 77, of Front Royal, Virginia, passed away on Monday, December 9, 2024 in the comfort of her home.

A funeral service will be held at 12 PM on Thursday, December 19, 2024 at Maddox Funeral Home, 105 W Main St., Front Royal, VA. Pastor Taeshin Kim will officiate, with Sherry Waddell assisting. A visitation will precede the service, beginning at 11 AM. Following the service, entombment will take place at Panorama Memorial Gardens.

Born in Circleville, WV on June 9, 1947, Fran was the daughter of the late Clarence and Dessie Lambert. She was the youngest of nine siblings, all of whom have preceded her in death.

Surviving Fran is her loving husband of 57 years, Scott Simmons; her son, Greg Simmons and his wife, Julie; her grandchildren, William and Stella; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Fran was an avid reader, a lover of animals, a member of Asbury United Methodist Church, and an active participant in the Ladies Auxiliary VFW (Post 1860), where she served as president for three years. Fran worked for many years as a bookkeeper and generously volunteered her skills to various civic, charitable, and religious organizations.
